Ok, no one wants to even say nice try, so guess what I am not posting any more of my images here. I simply do not believe that people could not comment at all. So I am not going to post images anymore, that includes my solar system images too. There seems to be some form of snobbery here and whether you dislike me or not I cannot understand why a simply nice effort keep going. If you want to see my images from now on go to South Celestial Pole or My astrospace or any other forum, but not this snobs ville. Very annoyed!!!!

Hi , i don't think people deliberately not reply to your post or try to snob you off. due to the clear conditions, there has been alot of new images from alot of different people posting. im sure it is just a miss.. hope you post it back.

Always happens when there is a new moon and everyone snapping away posting their pics. Don't take it personal..

lol Paul, what makes you so special? You post an image and 12 hours later noone has replied so you have a dummy spit? Oh c'mon.
You never (hardly ever) reply to anyone else's images on IceInSpace, but expect everyone to jump in and reply to yours. Double standards?
As Eric said, there's been HEAPS of new images posted in the last few days, being new moon and clear skies - not everyone's images get lots of replies. The image I posted yesterday got 1 reply - but I'm not crying about it.

Actually Mike I never said I was special. However, if you want to get down to brass tacks about it, well let me see. I do post a comment in threads when the opportunity arises, I cannot afford to troll through all the posts here. This is not about one or two images here, it is about certain people being ignored cos they are seen as not worthy of comments. If you place an average image up people go out of their way to make comment, but if others post here with an average image they get little if any comments. As an example I often post solar images here which are of a really high standard and get very few comments. There are about 6 people who consistently reply to those images. When you announced that you were looking at getting a PST, there was so much interest it was unreal, so by reason of that there are people who want to see solar images but don't want to make comment about my images. All part of the marketting strategy I suppose. Whereas if I post of CN, Universe Today, UK Astro imaging, My Astrospace and SCP there are always comments made about the solar images; both constructive and non constructive. You see this site has developed into a selected few that get comments.
You don't need to be insulting with your response. I am not the only person who has had this happen to them. This is not about yesterday it is about the last 7 or 8 months. I don't need to waste my time posting images as I am clearly not the godsend of Australian astronomy that you clearly are.

I find with all the images that get posted, it would be very difficult to acknowledge every one with an individual reply, even if it were to be as simple as writing “great image xxxxx”.:(
Speaking quite generally, I often find that when the season opens on a new object, the people who are 1st off the mark and post their image(s) first tend to get several comments, but when a flurry of other posts subsequently appear with the same image as more ‘scopes are pointed at the target, the responses tend to die down? This seems quite natural.
I personally try to look at most images and I really do appreciate them; not only what they reveal to me about the object but also about the craft and equipment of the person who took them. Sadly, I don’t have the time to reply to everything I look at, but I really do appreciate those images.
I personally find that the overall experience of setting up the gear, configuring it for the object, acquiring the object and processing it is almost the whole story for me. Whilst I really do enjoy the glowing feeling from a nice pat on the back from a post of mine, a nil response is not taken personally as I figure I’m just not important enough for people to deliberately not respond to.
In the early days of Ice In Space there were several people who really helped me along my journey in astronomy and then there are those IIS’ers who I meet at say, the Qld Astrofest and so I naturally tend to gravitate towards their posts and their images. I see this as a simple human or social reality, not a reflection on the importance or the quality of the contributions of those with whom I have had little interaction with.
Cheers

You didn't need to - it's your actions. You don't reply with any comments to people's images, but want and expect people to reply to yours.
You can dress it up however you like and make any claims you want - the simple fact is that it was a dummy spit because you didn't get a reply in 12 hours. in those same 12 hours, I didn't get a reply to my image either - some astronomy god huh.
You can see Ingo had a similar (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=28056) dummy spit just recently. He's 18 though. You should be more mature, instead of trying to create more division in the australian astronomy community.
Rumples Riot, for me to spend thousands of hours over the years to provide you with a free service so that you can use the same service to infer that 3,850 people that could have made a reply, didn’t because of some perceived injustice, is sickening. Not to mention, just plain rude.
Everyone appreciates images posted on the forums. Not everyone replies to every single post that’s ever made.
