It does not have any approvals. It should never be connected to mains power. This hair dryer comes with a 1.2M mains cord and a European mains plug. The fan is driven by a powerful little motor, runs at 4V @ 1.4A, this is most likely the low speed. The heater coil is about 120 ohms when cold, and when stretched out it measures 5.5m long. It employs a 3 position switch, heater coil, power diodes and a small DC fan. The hair dryer is 150mm tall including handle 95mm long, head 60mm in diameter. Could be re-configure to work from lower DC voltages for experimentation. For wiring diagram click here (http://www.oatleyelectronics.com/Notes/hair_dry.zip).

Thanks for the link.

But, is there such a thing as a battery operated fan heater - that would be perfect for my dew removal needs.
