Hello :hi: how is everyone today.
hmmm first post let me introduce myself.
I live on the west coast about 80km inland located on the Darling ranges, its actually the highest town on the scarp.
Most nights here are excellent viewing.

I first got into astronomy in 86 when the old man bought me a Tasco 60mm refractor telescope. Lost lots of sleep when Halley's comet came around.
Used the Tasco for about 2 years then off and on then rarely ever again.

I have recently decided to try and get back into astronomy.
2 weeks ago I bought a Skywatcher 200mm newt on a eq5 mount with 6.3 , 10, 25 and 40mm ep's.
I went against murphy's law and have had perfect skies up until last night.
Well thats it for now , the questions will follow.:)

Hi Torr and :welcome: to IceInSpace!

Great to see people with a renewed interest in astronomy.. now really is the best time to get back into it.

Plenty of advice available, people to ask questions, people to share it with, and best of all, much cheaper prices than 10-20 years ago!

Welcome to IIS torr. Great starter kit you have selected, just start with the observing reports and questions, we love them especially since its 95% cloud cover here all the time lately.

Welcome to IIS Torr.

Now I know who is responsable for the evening heatwave this weekend. Stuck our heads outside the last two nights and said forget it.

Sounds like your scope kit is similar to mine. You should have a ball with it.
