Hi Everyone :welcome:
I am selling this scope on behalf of a friend who has no interest in Astronomy. This scope has been in storage for the last 8 years or more.

The vintage of this Celestron is around 1995 - 1997. Being this vintage this was not made or assembled in China.

The tube has Starbright coatings, 9 X 50 Finder scope. Please note there is only one screw for the finder rings to be mounted to the tube, but this is easily fixable. Tube is F11 at around 2880mm Focal Length(best educated, researched guess)

Losmandy, by the looks were supplying Celestron their mounts back then, as this looks exactly like their current version of the G11. I have made enquiries and by what I have been told the current mounts must be lighter than this one. So I reckon you will find that the gearing on this mount is again better than the current G11 because it is way, way heavy. Please see the pictures.

You can also see that the drive control panel is that of Losmandy's current G11 mount except that they have written Celestron on it and not Losmandy. In fact there is no difference, and includes a PEC control. This mount is upgradable to the Gemini Goto System.

Every part of this setup is in excellent condition, I have set it up and used it to make sure that everything works.

Included in the package is a 1.25" Star Diagonal, a 1.25" 26mm, 20mm and 12.5mm Plossl Eyepiece and the tube is in it's own hard carry case. You get everything in the pictures.

I estimate that the tube in its case is around 15kg and the mount around 35kg. I am willing to ship it anywhere in Australia at the buyers expense and a more accurate idea of weight and shipping cost can be arranged if there are any serious buyers. Pickup is also welcome.

The cost of this setup is $3500 and I think if you where looking at replacing this unit with the same gear you would be up for at least twice as much, I have seen the G11 mount with motor drive on Australian websites for the amount of this whole package.

I have had to compress the images to be able to upload them so I can email a zip file if you so request.

I will accept Direct Bank Deposit or Paypal, but with Paypal please add 3%.

Thanks for looking and please if you have any questions please ask.

Hi Again Everyone

As requested here are some pics of the optics. Both Objective and mirror are pristine.

I did also forget to mention the only DC power supply that comes with this is a cigarette lighter attachment. Any 240V to 12V 5A power supply with a pin connector will also do the trick.

Also the scope is F10 at 2800mm Focal Length, sorry I actually got out the manual!!

Thanks
Al

Hello Everyone

I am now considering splitting this package. Please PM your best offers on either the OTA or the G11 mount.

Please be aware that I have had an offer on the whole package but as yet have not completely committed due to others interested, so your offers on each of these items needs to be well in excess of half of the asking price of the package before I will consider in breaking what has already been discussed.

Also in reading this thread, I am not so sure that the mount can be upgraded to Goto as the vintage is roughly the same. I was advised otherwise.

Thanks for your interest

Just for the record I have offered the asking price of $3500 for the package, with up to $200 for shipping. Without a firm quote for shipping (to Sydney) I don't want to commit to the sale.

I am sorry guys but I have to pull out of this one, I am overspent till my Lx90 sells. And I just bought a C8 Fastar and was plain greedy when asking for the C11. I did want the C11 but alas its out of my budget right now.

Kal and Matt can fight it out... LOL.

Regards
Fahim
