I happened on this object almost by accident. It is an open cluster with a small planetary nebula in it. SkymapPro 6 gives the same number to both objects and then calls the PN 2818a
NGC Project (http://www.ngcic.org/ngcicdb.asp) calls the PN 2818 in the current database but then calls it an open cluster in the visual observation.
Nevertheless it is a nice object. The cluster is nice ~9arcmin loose collection of stars with the 1 arcmin PN on the western side of the cluster.
My colour image was just a grab of 4 x 300 sec using my 40D. I also took 4 x 300 sec pics using my genesis CCD through a lum filter only. It is much more sensitive than the 40D and shows more structure than the colour pic.
I think this object is worthy of more time if this rain goes away!
