From today's IIS News and Articles, just in case you missed it ...
" ... 4 Australians (Anthony Wesley, Zac Pujic, Maurice Valimberti and [Mike Salway] along with a few other amateur astronomers from around the world, have collaborated with a team led by Augstin Sánchez-Lavega in a paper that was published in the latest Nature Journal."
You can read the PDF version of the article here:

Congratulations are due to Mike and the other authors! It must feel very good to have your names in this prestigious journal.
Hi Mike,
This is the nicest piece of news I have read all week,
Congratulations to all concerned.

Yes Matt, I saw this but only Maurice Valimberti was mentioned and I didn't see any response to Mike S's modest note a long way down in yesterday's IIS 'News and Articles'. Such a good bit of news was worth reviving!

I missed it 1st time round – must learn to concentrate. LOL! It was good to get two bites at the cherry by seeing it 2nd time round!
Cheers

Well done lads, definitely a feather in your astronomical caps.
cheers
Thanks for all the positive comments, it was a lot of fun to see the work that was done by the authors based on some of our images (and hubble /new horizons images too!).

Hi Mike.
No worries.
I did refer to others in my original post via the use of 'et al'....I just didn't reel off a roll-call of names. I guess those involved knew who they are.
I only refered to Maurice alone because he was the only individual mentioned/quoted in the article.
Apologies if anyone was offended by this innocent oversight.
My intention was to draw attention to the actual science in the article, and point out generally that some Aussies have been involved/contributed and congratulate them (Mike, Zac, Anthony) as a collective.
It was meant to be a positive acknowledgement of the good work of some of our astro brethren. Nothing more...nothing less:)
Cheers.

Thanks guys. As Bird says, it was most interesting seeing the back and forth between Agustin and the folks at Nature. A LOT of work goes into producing an article that Nature will accept.
And as always, it's great to know that our images can be used for science. Let's hope 2008 provides many more opportunities to contribute great Jupiter data.
