I'm after a counterweight/s for my mount. Doesn't need to be losmandy specific.
The Losmandy weights are roughly 5 and 10 Kg (11lb and 21lb). I already have the 3.2kg. The centre hole is 32mm in diameter. I would prefer something in the 10kg size but anything in about the midrange would be fine. Preferably someone from the SE-Qld area (so I can pick it up rather than pay freight) but if you've got an offer I can't refuse, PM me.
If you've got one available and its not 32mm bore PM me anyway, I can always get it drilled to size
Thanks
Robby

Just seeing what's available before I head to the machine shoppe Robby :) I've got some "dumbell" weights, but we're talking Losmandy here. There's an image to uphold here so I would like the additional weights to at least look like proper EQ mount weights :D

Star Optics on the gold coast sell the EQ6 mount weights seperatly if that helps...not sure on size....
Cost around $32 each from memory.

Thanks Tony, if nothing turns up here I'll give them a call does the EQ6 have the same diameter weight shaft?

Remove the plastic insert and the EQ6 weights bore is 25mm.

Hi Paul,
given my habit of importing mounts, I never take the counterweights, preferring instead to have them made locally.
I got C/W's made for the G-11, and now the Tak, locally. Get a decent machinist to spin down an old pulley or similar. 32mm is indeed the size, at least for the Losmandy stuff. Once to size I sprayed mine with "Stainless Steel Look-alike Paint". Then a coat of clear to make it shiny, and it looks a million dollars.
Old "Rusty Dumbell weight" indeed? Whatever next?

Have you looked into Wieght lifting stuff?
They must be close to 32mm inside dia's.
Or do you know anyone in Queensland railways, at Redbank. they may be able to get one casted for you.
I used to work there, got heaps of things made.

Getting modifications done to an existing weight is no probs, their just so damn wide. Maybe I can get a heap of 2.5kg weights and weld them together. :)
Might have to have a chat to the fitters at work :D
