Hi all, I captured this a few weeks back during a brief session between the clouds.

This is NGC2467 taken with the DSI II and f/3.3 focal reducer using a 13nm Ha filter.
It consists of 100 subs at 30 seconds each taken using Envisage and light processing in Maxim.

I was a very hot night which I think has softened the image or it may be my eyes :D, but what really excited me was the little X clearly visible, I'm not sure what it is or how it formed but it looks great.

Cheers:)

Thanks Glen & Eric, I did momentarily toy with the idea of the DSI III but I think I'd rather use that money and put it towards a Starlight Xpress which I think will be a good step up to the next level.

At the moment there is still a lot I can learn with the DSI II and I would still like to try Ha, OIII & SII colour mapping with it as well. that is when I finally get my backpay owing to me for the last 12 months and I can buy the filters, hopefully by March if all goes well.

Cheers

Actually I would be interested to know if there are any members using any of the Starlight Xpress models, I know of two at least.

Nice work Ric, for a DSI. Michael Sidonio used a Starlight Express to great effect, a big step up.

Thanks Gary and Fred.

I noticed a while back that the Strongman had his whole Starlight kit up for sale at a very reasonable price but alas I pondered for too long over it and was beaten to it.

Cheers

Nice work Ric. By the looks of the image you've got your setup dialled in. If anything perhaps a little too smooth. Not sure if its a focus "thing" or processing. Still very pleasing to the eyes. Keep it up.

Thanks Jase, I feel that my understanding of imaging is all starting to come together a bit more easier now, allthough there is still a way to go down this road and I suppose you really never stop learning.

Cheers

Nice shot there, the HA really makes the nebula stand out.
