Ok its cloudy, yes it was raining, but, and its a big but (no pun intended) I hate light pollution. Fronting me was the dog track in full bloom and in the distance is a recycling yard that operates 24/7.:mad2::mad2:

this is deplorable - bring back the natural night sky:sadeyes::sadeyes::sadeyes:

Looks like Mayfield on a new moon night - although there isn't quite enough ORANGE in the cloud reflections

Wow, what a lovely dark sky site you have there m8. Next time i image i'll take a snap of a real inner sydney dark sky site, complete with the beautiful city skyline only 2km away and ringed with a lovely range of park lights and topped off with the headlights of cars and buses careening down the road and the occasional tram rattling by to darken the scene even more :)

Haven't you noticed we haven't had a decent sky since we signed the contract and it has hardly stopped raining since we moved in.

What a right royal pain in the bottom Houghy, the ol slingshot and a few rocks wont solve that problem. A bazooka strike might help.

Cheers

I'm more concerned with the constant rain and clouds houghy, rather than light pollution.

While those damn southerners get weeks of clear skies!

Is this enough orange??

Never seen anything like it before, or since. The remains of the big "low" that was over Townsville-Proserpine; yes, the one that caused so much flooding in N. Qld. The second one, I took by just holding the camera to the sky.

Move to the bush:)..the real estate is cheaper and you can use a scope so much smaller than you think you need;).

The only light polution I have is the accumulation of candle wax on the mantle piece:whistle:.
