Hi Guys, do you ever get bored at the scope, well i did last night while waiting for the Moon to go down.

I never do any solar stuff, but seeing the Tak was loaded with the 5D, ready and waiting for some imaging, I looked at the Moon and said to myself, wonder if this would work.

The scope was focused for star stuff, so i just left it there and took one image with the camera set on TV and that was it.

The pic is as it was taken nothing done to it other than a good crop. ;)

Leon

Nothing wrong with that, very sharp and good tonal range. Nicely done!

Thanks Guys, but truly i wasn't even trying, :) just filling in time, and it was only an auto camera action, but now that i see the results, i might just point this machine at a planet or two, and see what it will do.

Cheers Leon

That turned out nicely, you'll have to image the moon more often.
DSLR's aren't as good on planets though.
Also the image scale at prime focus on the Tak 106 would be too small but worth having a go for something different.

Yea, Andrew you are probably right, not much magnification in the Tak, but it could be fun.

I personally don't like the Moon, but I might have a few more goes at it.
