my first Horsehead and Flame
7 x 7 min @ iso 200 5 x 5 min @ iso 400 with Canon 400D ICNR
imaged through ED100 @ f/5.6
hand guided with LX200 @ f/10

done well Mick, the "black " line at the bottom of the frame does detract from the image slightly. I would be doing cartwheels with that result!!!!

Mick very nice smooth image lots of detail in the flame without loosing the horsey. Lovely range of star colour as well. Excellent :thumbsup:

nice one mick very smooth indeed. too bad with the centering though. does it help alot with ICNR?

thanks Eric, l'm going to try seperate darks soon but ICNR seems to work ok. l actually forgot to put the UHC-S filter in line and lost some longer subs due to light pollution. l've included one of the 7 min subs.

Great image! Particularly for hand guided. A lot of detail in the Flame there :)

VERY cunning Mick by having the bright star dead center any reflection from it will land on itself. It has come up very nicely.
The black bit at the bottom is a shadow of the cameras mirror. It really only shows up with extreme stretching.
