Hi guys,
Well at last another clearish night..:D
They have been real rare up this way lately...so much cloud and rain and drizzle! I think we have had the worst weather the last 2 months that I have remembered in the last few years. I feel sorry for you guys further north as luckily we didn`t get any flooding (just)!

Well here is my go at Messier 1 the Crab nebulae. Inspired by Erics post..:)
I would have liked some more exposures but the fog rolled in at 1am ending the session!
Image is 9 x 7 min at iso 400..
Stacked in DSS and then finished off in PS.
Overall happy with the results and the autoguiding with PHD although some frames the stars were slightly oval?
Don`t think I could get any more detail from this with my FL and a DSLR.
All comments most welcome..
cheers Gary

Great image Gary, I enjoyed the colour and depth in this one. I also liked all those filaments running throughout it, you've got them to stand out very nicely.

Cheers

Nice image Gary.
Good views of the sinues running throughout.
I'm in the middle of a mount service because of those damn "oval stars".

Nice work Gary. Well done. A little noise reduction would go along way with this image.

I tried M1 the other night and all I could get was a pink smudge.

Thankyou Jeff! Seems like DEC movement in mine, not RA. I have to adjust the Dec worm a bit as I havn`t done this since it was out of the box!
Thanks again.:)

Thanks Eric...LOL didn`t even realize that I used the same settings to you mentioned it...:D tried some 5 min subs but didn`t show enough detail so went to 7 min...

I have reprocessed the image with much more care and it looks 100% better now! even the stars look pretty good!

Thanks Ken! I was supprised how long a exposure was needed to show it!
