Hi All,

I want to take a photo tonight and am prepared to drive upto 350 km to do it. Within this radius of Sydney any suggestions as to where i might find no clouds tonight? I was thinking Gundagai but the BOM forecast mentions rain on Thursday so mybe that means clouds tonight?

Any suggestions appreciated :)

Paul

I'm hoping it will be clear in Sydney tonight! the weather appears to be improving over the next few days.

I have the next few days off and just dont trust the weather in sydney not to be cloudy. If you read the BOM forecast yesterday was supposed to have increasing sunny periods and a fine night. The two nights prior looked ok in the afternoon and then the cloud rolled in around 10pm.

I am thinking Gundagai, Parkes or Forbes. Any other suggestions or anyone know any good observing locations around these towns?

Thanks Paul

hmm, the latest weather forecast has now changed tomorrow from "fine" to "morning cloud, then fine".
That's the way it's been for the last 3 days, which means the cloud comes in at about 10-11pm :(

If your really keen you could drive to Ballarat or Snake valley, it is clear night after night, for days on end.

We are getting a bit tired of it all actually, as we have to sit up so late each night.

As predicted - after a beautiful clear sky for 2 hours, here come the clouds from the north east. Mars is about to be covered.

Not to worry though, every single star is twinkling like mad. The seeing must be terrible.

No point heading north. We've has continuous grey for 48hours with about a 0.25 ml of rain total. Grrrrrrrr
