:)Yippy, my new Stellarvue ED80 Night Hawk Next Generation arrived today, and of course it's cloudy.

What a nice little scope. The build quality is amazing. Every where you look it oozes quality. The price included a reinforced soft carry case which I upgraded to a hard case for a bit extra. Also came with tube rings, red dot finder and an SV 2inch dilectric diagonal, should provide very nice images. The focuser is a rotateable 10 or 11 to 1 ? dual speed micro focuser, didn't get the Feather Touch focuser. Can't wait till first light. Not sure when the weather will be right. Been crap for months now.

I would like to thank Peter at SDM Telescopes for his amazing service and advice, highly recommended.

Will post some images of the scope in the coming days.

Sounds yummy, Paul.

What's the focal length and f/ratio of the scope?

Do you have imaging plans?

Hi Rod,

Focal length is 560mm, focal ratio is F7.
Main reason for the purchase is for imaging, but at the moment I have no mount for it. Can't decide what to buy.
So in the mean time I will be using it for visual use on a huge video tripod with a Manfrotto fluid head, nice and smooth.
Should be a nice little imaging setup when I get around to it.

Cheers, Paul.

That's a nice looking scope.

Does it have the split tube so you can use a binoviewer without a Barlow?

Hi Mate,

Yep, two piece tube, binoviewer ready, no need for an adapter or barlow when in binoviewer mode.

Cheers, Paul.
