Morning All,
Just finished an all nighter.
I thought I would test the Argo navis on CG4 by co-ordinates.
Seems to have worked very well.
6x10min subs
3x10minRGB 2x2binned
Combined, balanced, fixed some pixels in MaximDL.

Its not pretty but there.:D

Good work on the cosmic hand Jeff. Like the composition. Though you need to rework the data. The RGB channel histograms are all over the place. Simply raising the blue and green channels will darken the sky, but you've also clipped the red. Overall, well done.

Yes, the colours were just thrown together and pushed, not the thing you should do when you're tired, will try again throughout the day. I intend to gather more data tonight, partner willing:sadeyes:, both to improve signal and mosaic full object:D. After this I should have something more presentable.

Now that my eyes are clear it is a shocker:scared:.

Nice capture Jeff, I suspect that this is not an easy object to capture so congrats for that.

I definitely would like to see this DSO with more data captured and some more processing.

Hi all,
I've completed some more L data now 26x10min.
Reprocessed and 'balanced?:doh:' Still not sure about balance:shrug:. Also enhanced & cropped.
If I learned one thing -this is a very difficult subject.
However, enough 'cosmic monster', and back to galaxies:D.

This image always reminds by of Stargate SG-1 and the nasty snake-like symbiotes creatures of the Goa'uld.

Could you go with a smaller image scale to fit more of the object in the field of view?

Very detailed image of a very faint subject there Jeff. Can easily see the prominent darkening of the top part of the "mouth" of the monster. An impossible subject for big city dwellers as being a broadband emitter, nebula filters are mostly ineffective in bringing it out of the sky background.

This one always reminds me of those Sandworms from the "Dune" novels.

Yes Lester, I had changed the image size sometime in the past and took the coloured subs. The L subs were full frame. I had to crop to the coloured sub size & edge of frame issues.
