Hi guys
Anyone keen to join me at the pony club sometime this week?
I can't do Saturday night, but can do pretty much any other night.
The weather is looking like it will improve, and the moon will set early in the night.
I've got withdrawals!
Can't do tomorrow night but may be able to join you any other night, unless work schedules change.

Friday or Saturday night are about the only nights I can do, and I still have to work on Saturday :(.
But if Friday or Saturday Nights are OK...I'm in..:D
Early starts all this week and most weeks, prevent me from doing weekdays.
Count me in for the weekend....

Friday night sounds OK with me. Weather is looking promising for then.

I'll be going away in the morning and should be back by Friday.
I'll check in when I get back.
Hopefully there will be some clear skies this week.
Cheers

I can't do Saturday at all, but I may be able to duck up on Friday night for a few hours. I won't bring the scope, but perhaps I can bring some eyepieces.

Weather is looking good! (yeh I know we've said that before).
Geoff #xx - are you coming, perhaps with your lawn mower? ;)
What about you Geoff the Owl? Will you get the key?

hmm those clouds up north look nasty.. I hope the high pressure system keeps them away.
I'm out, can't make it this time guys. :(
Have fun and clear skies.

No - that's why I tried to call you Geoff.
Are you able to get it? What time are you turning up?

I've sent an email to Justine. I won't be there until 8pm or so.
If anyone is there earlier than me, they'll need to collect the key. Let me know if you plan on getting there early, so I can avoid the 5km drive down Ironbark road.

Those who made the treck were treated to a totally clear night all night long.
I stayed in ORION for acouple of hours observing some deep sky objects 2 x Galxies NGC 1682 and NGC 1684. Also a reflection nebula NGC 1788. Viewing was still at times.
Also, some "sharp as a tack" views of Saturn through Geoff's 8 inch DOB. WOW.
Some lovely naked eye views of the Milky Way around 2 am after a full night with my eye to the scope.
Jupiter rose above the trees around 3.30 or so.
Thanks for the company everone.
I hope you get your Laptop sorted out Mike.
See you all soon.
I'm glad you guys had a great night !
Hope to catch up next time.
My wife and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary last night so it was a rare treat to have a nice romantic dinner, just the two of us, without the kids.

Was a great night, thanks to all who turned up. The weather was lovely, couldn't have asked for a better night.
Around 2am the seeing looked spectacular with no twinkling.. I would've loved to have imaged Saturn from home.
Had some frustrating times with my laptop (see thread in general chat), but thems the breaks.
I took my friend Derek (from Karate) for his first dark site trip, he had a great time and is keen to come to more.

It was nice to meet you Sue.
I will help you some more with your Celestron setup next time we get together on the mountain or where ever.
Congrats to Andrew and your wife for 21 years. You beat us by one year ( 20 yrs last November ).
It is great to get a break from the kids , and I am sure they think the same about us..
My wife once asked me if I knew what the precious item was for 21 years marriage ........I said I think it is RUST......
Seriously.....all the best....

Yep, thanks to all for a good nights viewing.
I realised as I passed Brooklyn that I'd left all my eyepieces at home, but thought I'd carry on as there was no way if I went home that I'd be heading out again. Various kind offers of loan eyepieces were much appreciated, but I thoroughly enjoyed just checking out the views through every one elses scopes. Many thanks for that guys.
Oh, and as far as anniversaries go, I've got a while to wait for our first, as we were only married three weeks ago!
Cheers,
Jason.

Tried to keep the regular ambience going with the Cuban but, wasn't really quite the same.
Great to see clear skies all night and a good roll up despite missing a few regulars.
Sorry I dozed off there at the end while watching for shooting stars. Big couple of days and a little sleep deprived.:zzz2:

Hi everyone, just wanted to say thanks to Geoff and Noel in particular and everyone else at the pony club on Friday night for making me feel welcome and for helping me set up my scope. Good to know it was me and not the scope that was the problem. I'm so glad I made it there and am looking forward to the next clear viewing night!!
Cheers
Sue:)
Mikes map and directions were very good and easy to follow:thumbsup:
