Dear All
I have taken the image below of 30 dorado. It is a stack of 7x 5 mins subs with a 40D through my VC200L. I had it set on 800ASA with the colour balance on daylight
Preprocessing as usual with good darks, flats and offsets via Iris.
I tried my usual balance figures of Red 1.96, Green 0, Blue 1.23 but am not sure if this is the best. Does anyone have other figures for the 40D?
I am yet to try to image a G2 star with this set up and the rain outside precluded trying for a while to confirm the figures.
So what should it look like?

Hi Terry
The first one is too magenta and the second one is burnt out in the core but the colour looks better.

For an unmodded 40D I guess that's as much red as you're going to get.

The colours overall seem a bit muted though - perhaps boost it with some saturation?

great shot for the big T however, you are clipping one colour badly. can you post a pic without processing?
