It looks like it might be clear night (not holding high hopes).

The moon is about 7 degrees from Mars. Is it worth trying some ToUCam shots of it or will it just be a complete wash-out? I'd put the dew guard on to try and limit what moonlight is falling directly on the scope's aperture, but I'm not sure I would stop much with it only 7 degrees away!

I can only photograph Mars between 11:45 and 2am, so it requires a late night... not sure if it's worth it tonight:shrug:

Should I just wait until the 26th or 27th when it's further away (but might be cloudy)?

Roger.

You'll lose some contrast, but it could still be worth it if the seeing is good.

The main limiting factor is the low altitude :(

With the weather we have been having lately go for it :D

At the moment Roger any image will be a good one.

Personally, at the moment I'd be happy just to see it with the naked eye.

Had a look at it just then. An orange blob... seeing is lousy :(
