I noticed, yet again, that S&T continues to drag out the ol' "Top 10 List" in their December / January / February Issues.
I don't know about everyone else, but the is old chestnut is getting a little bit predictable and frankly boring.

For example, you think they could just - as in the latest issue of AS&T - could just name it say "Stories of 2007" or "Best Events of 2007", etc. - and leave the story to the imagination of the reader of subscriber.
Next we be seeing, as in the teenybopper or women's magazines - say;

"264 Ways to Observe with the Naked-Eye" or
"521 Ways to Collimate a Telescope."

Do amateur astronomers really need to be bombarded with this kind of media hype just to sell magazines ?

Thanks andrew I went and bought this issue today and find it great :thumbsup:

Most every post I have seen of yours has a very negative theme "attached"
which IMO is very much a shame as you are obviously a very knowledgable
member of this comunity ..I sincerely hope you can deal with whats eating you up ..the valuble and positive contributions made would be a great thing .

take care and have a happy and safe x-mass my friend :)

Perhaps Carl Sagan summed up my point here nicely;

"For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring." :)
