Guys,

Just wanted to remind everyone that this is a family site, and the forum posting guidelines state:

I've implemented "censored words" filters via the forum that replace the obvious profanity with ****, but there are many ways to overcome those filters. Plus, the fact that there are ****'s doesn't mean we don't know what you're trying to say. We've also seen people doing the @!&*& to indicate profanity.

Please refrain from using any sort of profanity, including your own style of censorship like !^@&^@@ on the forums. Keep a family atmosphere, think before you post and use language that you'd want your 10 year old kids or 80 year old grandmother to read.

It's not a wide-spread issue I know, but I have received feedback that some members have been offended by it, so it's time to remind people of the guidelines.

Thanks

Thanks Mike,I have kids as young as 6 reading these posts(over my shoulder) and they dont need to be encouraged with the usage of some terms.
Can you include the abbreviated form using initials in that Mike. I'm not a prude but I think it cheapens and demeans the post.

Thinking about it, I am probably one of the offender's that use the occasional profanity in my posts. Therefore I would like to take time out to apologise to the kids & parents for any offence given. Having no children of my own, I do tend to forget that there may be children present....suffice to say I will try to remember in future.

John.

naughty naughty
BTW I work in the public school system and the language I hear in the school yard (both primary and secondary) every day would make a street walker blush. It's nice to come in here and not have to read it also.

The 6 yr old boy next door in all ways out-does me in swearing anyway. I have no worries!
