Having been frustrated with recent deep sky imaging due to light pollution and general learning curve issues, decided that it would be nice to generate an image worth looking at.

This is a mosaic of 6 shots along the lunar terminator.
These were taken with the DBK31 at 30fps, and each image was stacked in Registax, and used anywhere from about 10 to 39 frames per stack.

Shot through the LX200GPS 10" at F/10.

Then just manually aligned in Photoshop.

great image robert.

Out of curiosity, is the AVI captured afocally or using the prime focus technique ?

Prime focus - in the back of the OTA just after the microfocuser. No diagonal.

:eyepop:And you achieved this in spades.
I'm not usually a moon person, but this did catch my eye. Nice.

Very nice work, Robert. Excellent detail and contrast. The larger format of the DMK31 is great for this type of work.

Thanks! It was satisfying to actually get something nice looking!

Yep, the larger chip size & resolution makes this a lot easier to achieve!
Initially I tried to use Registax with the MAP alignment, but it seemed to choke and got all sorts of error messages. In the end just did one alignment point per image. When I get time, I might give it a go with multi-point and see if I can improve some bits. Admittedly, when zoomed out to the whole image, you can't see the focus problems and blurry bits! ;)
