Hi All,
Finally a clear night and I got the G-11 setup with the Borg 100ED. The view of the moon was just breathtaking, did not notice any color at all. Spent several hours on visual polar alignment. I found the 3 star triangle close to the SCP and roughly aligned on the SCP visually. Tracking visually seemed ok so I tried taking some shots. But I found during imaging i got trails on 30sec shots so that limited me to 15sec shots. I will have to work on drift alignment.
Here is a 23x15se ISO1600 taken with the 400D.

Nice first image Fahim.
You'll be autoguiding next no doubt?
Then you'll be pushing 5-10min subs!!!
Cheers
Doug
A good start Fahim, you got some nice details in this image and the core and the Trap have come up very nicely indeed.
Looking forward to more from you
Making progress Fahim. I think the focus looks a little soft. Also check that your camera is squared to the optical axis. The stars, even in the center appear to have slight tails. Look forward to seeing more.

I'd also recommend to pay more attention to composition, and frame the running man and orion better.
A saturation boost might help bring out some colours, too?
Use a webcam for drift alignment, Fahim. I use it now (in my guidescope) and can drift align in 10-20 minutes.
Great first start!

Thanks All.
Jase you are correct, the 1.25" adapter i have has a bit of play in it. Its a single screw lock and needs replacing. And I have misplaced my shutter control cable so I was limited to the viewfinder and the LCD for focusing.
Mike yes i was planing on doing that tonight but am clouded out. I did try drift when i was about to pack up. And noted that my Altitude looks spot on no drift at all. But the Az looks off. But i gathered as much from my images of the Pole. The relied on the Camera image to align visually and i think due tot he play i was just a bit off.
I did have a go with the Dragonfly on the main scope (Did not use the 76ED), and I could not worked out the settings for long exposures. All I was getting was the noisy pixels. I will have to do a mock trial and work on the settings.
Most of the images I spend siting on the ground and on my knees focusing. Fortunately i have tiles in half the yard. But i need to get some of those knee pads or some tarp to put around the scope.
Also my RA clutch does not lock the RA, I can still move the Scope with a little force. The DEC is locked tight. My mate Apoman who did open up the G-11 and looked at it for me said it needs to be regressed. So he is going to teach me how to do this.
Hope the clouds will part soon for my to try again.
Regards
Fahim
