Hi all
Finally bagged this object first thing on dark last night.
12x10 mins ISO200.
UV/IR filter, MPCC coma corrector
Modded 350D, 10 inch f5.6 Newtonian off axis hand guided.
One of the frames had a meteor skimming past the Cartwheel
Sky fairly bright and a lot of moisture, but first clear nght for over a month.
Processed as usual in IRIS and Ps.
Scott
Scott, that is a great effort for hand guiding for such a long time, and with those conditions, that meteor just about speared the Cartwheel as well, well done.

Ahh, great to see another example of this guy! Gez, what good luck to have a metoer fly through! Again, good amount of detail visible of the actual object(s).
Great image of a fascinating galaxy Scott.
The meteor sets it off perfectly.

Thanks all.
I was sort of half sitting on this bar stool half standing as guided the pic, makes guiding a lot easier having something to lean on.
Scott
Nice work Scott. Don't know how you can continue to hand guide. My hat goes off to you for the miraculous effort. Perhaps I'm simply getting lazy.;)
I have to say, the best shot I've recently seen of this target was Roger's (rogerg) effort. The sensitivity of the ST7 did wonders on this faint target.

Nice one Scott.
Plenty of detail and drama with the meteor.
And the skies have finally cleared in Newcastle, I know where your cloud has gone.
Well done
