Well, it was such a perfect sky last night, I thought 'what a great time to try get the best out of the DSI-c'. No excuses for bad seeing, cloud, fog or anything else!
I still reckon the Toucam creams it
Here is Flame Nebula with DSI-c:
ED80, DSI-c 1, Astronomiks IR/UV filter, 53x60 seconds, in-camera Dark subtraction, processed in Photoshop CS.

Thats pretty damn good Ken!
I remember your first attempts with the DSI and that image is a quantum leap from those first unsteady steps!!!
Well done mate - that's one of the best DSI images I've seen I reckon (but I've led a sheltered life!!:P:P:P:P)
Just kiddin' - nice one!
Doug:thumbsup:

Holy Foccacia!!!
I get bored after 30 mins - neck hurts, back hurts - end up like Quasimodo hunched over that damn monitor!
Kudos on the stamina Ken!

Had to Doug, the Original raw hardly shows anything. I had to drag it all out!
Here is the raw:

You should be a dentist Ken - drawing teeth mate!!!
That's some awesome processing!
Like I said "well done"
What's your plans for the imaging future Ken?
If Santa was kind to you, would you get a DSLR or a CCD astro cam?
I reckon with a CCD (or DSLR) you would be the one to watch! You've certainly developed the skills to extract great images out of the data.
All the best
Doug
I think it looks good - can you get some longer subs?? You won't need to stretch it so hard then.....
Hi Ken, I think you've done a great job mate. The flame looks fantastic, everything looks sharp and you've got some lovely colour and detail as well.
A fine job and think of all that processing experience that you have gained as well.
Cheers mate, keep at it.

Gee, thanks all!!!!
Can't get either Doug.
Next Years School books and uniforms for 3 High School students kind of kills any hope of updating.
But I look at it this way. A DSLR is waaayyy cheaper than an equivelent quality CCD Astrocam.
I'll dream :P
