I had semi clear skies last night for the first time since the last full moon. This is my first attempt at any sort of nebula with my new 40D I could only get 6x 5 min subs before the cloud thwarted me. It need heaps more exposure but at least it tells me what the camera is capable of. Taken through my VC200L at prime focus guided with a QHY guider and processed with Iris. The usual darks, flats etc. The field of view with this combination is 28 x 42 arcmin.
By Gee Terry, with some more exposure that should be a winner, it's all there, just needs to be brought out some more, well done.

Looks good Terry - will need more exposure at the long f ratio of the Tak for sure....
Hi Terry, that's the makings of a great image it's a pity the clouds spoiled your first light with the 40D.
I'd like to see this again when you get a chance for some more exposures.
Cheers
