Took this shot this morning while the trans was good. seeing was a bit above average, but this spot is looking quite nice. Very active and is flaring even now.

This one is from this afternoon when the seeing had improved and there was more development. You can see that a filament has developed over the course of a couple of hours and the magnetic field lines have altered a little.

Still plenty of flaring going on.

Thanks for the images Paul. I find myself continually forgetting and remembering the awesome part of all this. Sometimes it's "there's a filament, there's a prom"; another time I think "how the hell did that thing get there - giant ball of burning hydrogen in the middle of nowhere". It's a bit overwhelming sometimes.

Fascinating images Paul, old Sol gets a bit overlooked sometimes but there is so much to see on our closest star.

Here is another image I took on Saturday while the seeing was nice. Of real interest is the patch directly below the spot active region. There is granulation there. I have not seen this before in Ha images that I have produced.
