What are the chances of a metorite landing in my backyard?
I assume that they would be quite low but I don't know much about this topic, I live North of Sydney.

Chances are pretty good! But I would put that 'pretty good' at 1 in 100,000,000.
It is a rare thing but houses and cars (and even people) have been hit, so the chances are as good as being struck by lightning. Not much, BUT . . . it can happen! :scared:
Your house is bombared 24 hours a day by millions of Micro-Meteorites about the size of grains of salt

Hi Caleb, another central coaster!
Can you make it to Mangrove Mountain for a viewing night this weekend? Check the "Star Parties" forum for details!

put your other glasses on Ken
(or did he do a quick edit ?)
welcome Caleb
if someone can get hit by lightning on Terrigal beach i guess you can have a rock lobbed in your yard (if you want to wait long enough)
though i think, if it was to happen it would happen at Mike's place - he gets all the luck
like Mike said - would be good to see you Sat nite
geoff
Can I have one at my place too, Thank You.
Leon

Boy that was fast!
Hi Caleb, I think the odds of winning Tattslotto might be better but you never know.
Welcome to IIS as well.
