Hello all,
Here's a shot I did recently of the galaxy NGC 55. The image shows a lot of detail in the galaxy which was a pleasure to see. Also there are quite a number of tiny galaxies in the image.
This image is a 75-minute exposure (made up of 25 x 3-min. subs) with my modified 300D @ ISO200 autoguided on my G-11 mounted GSO 12" f/5 'scope.
There is a better look at the image here

Hi Paul
That is a beautiful image of NGC55. There is a terrific amount of detail visible in the core and irregular outer regions.
It looks a little “gritty” on my LCD display and perhaps slightly too blue, although these are minor considerations.
Top job and I was relieved to see that you are now auto guiding!
Cheers
Dennis
A very nice image Paul, great colour and detail.
I tried for this one myself a while back but it was a bit of a dud, I shall definitely be having another go after seeing this one.
Cheers
great shot Paul well done. I think i will have to start shooting gal. soon. I shot alot of neb shots.

Excellent image Paul
The "grittyness" is actually bright individual blue stars starting to be resolved. NGC55 seems to show this more so than other galaxies, and only deep hi res images show it, such as this one :)

Whoops! Thanks for the explanation Scott - it no longer looks gritty and those imaginary minor considerations have just evaporated.
