I have downloaded and have been waiting about ten minutes for my system to open the file!! :rolleyes:
Update: It finally opened!! Wow, very nice...but not sure if the file needs to be so big. pixel count is 22620x15200!!

Can you link us to the actual hubble page, rather than the super-large TIF?
Then people can choose to download the smaller options.

Thanks everyone. Isn't that a sweet image! I am just amazed by the density of stars at the core of that galaxy - much the same as the Milky Way, I expect. Imagine flying through that centre region!

Took over an hour to download (their server maxed at 200KB/s) and about 45 seconds for initial load in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Each zoom in takes a minute or so .. still zooming and seeing more detail :P
Oops after 6 or 7 zooms it failed to cope. Fun though.
