I am becoming a big narrowband fan! :D
This is my best horsehead yet - 3x10min exposures through my 100mm f/5 achromat, using an Astronomik Ha filter and DSI Pro II with Outback Cooler. Guided through ED80/DMK/PHD Guiding, on Losmandy G-11 mount.

I am stoked how this has come out - there is still some noise brought out with stretching, likely due to the low number of subs (and only 2 darks too - I need some sleep!). I wish the ED80 was f/5 :(
Longer subs next!
Thanks for looking.....

Loving this imaging under a bright moon.....

Nice going there Lee. Certainly a significant improvement to the last. You're on the right track with regards to sub exposure times. CCD's collect light in a linear fashion, thus take the longest effective sub exposures you can to bring out rich details and suppress noise. Don't be scared of 20 or 30min subs. So when will we see some SII and OIII exposures added?;)

Thanks for the comments guys..... Hopefully I'll be able to show something other than the horsehead soon, I just enjoy watching that silhouette appear from the glow....
Jase - O-III on the way (via Santa....) :D
Kearn - thanks - needs an update though.....

Hi Lee, that's a great looking Horsey, you've captured some nice detail.

I really enjoy my Ha filter as well, it's a weird feeling to be imaging a faint DSO under an almost full moon isn't it. :confuse2:

Cheers

Lee, that is a great result. You are improving all the time.

If you use a 0.6x Focal Reducer it will turn your ED80 into an f4.5

That's how I have mine set up :)
