err, it was prime focus (that's when you take the lens off right?)

so the fl was 1200mm? ok :)

how was the seeing? looks a tad soft sugesting the conditions werent perfect.

I have yet to try prime with my scope so good on ya for doing it!

Hi Prova, nice photo!
For a comparison, here's one I snapped last year - just to see if it would work...
10" f5 dob, 25mm Bintel plossl, Caplio G4 digital camera set to automatic exposure.
This was hand-held, with the Caplio's timer set to take the image after a 2 second delay. I found that this elimated the camera movement that happened when I depressed the shutter.

Yep, it's the Moon. I've seen images posted on the web that it is hard to tell what it is a pic of! :P

It's quite a good image Prova. Worth playing with focus a bit more, unless your seeing was terrible.

I too have to say that it is waayyy better than my first attempt, Keep at it :thumbsup:

Good pic there.
I now always use my modded 350D camera as it has mirror lockup function. My old 300d doesnt, and it often shakes the scope when I fire the remote shutter release when the mirror flies up in the camera.
I dont know if the D50 has mirror lock or not.
