View Full Version here: : My best DMK Mars so far
The seeing was noticeably better tonight.
The predicted easing in the jetstream conditions over Brisbane arrived.
This is only one of a bunch of AVIs I took using 3x Televue barlow with the DMK, C9.25 and Astronomik red filter.
The best 170 frames of 2000 were used in Regi4...final touches in PS7.
I also captured a bunch of AVIs with both a 2.5x and 4x Powermate.
I'm hoping there's better to come from tonight's run. Although I think things will improve as the week rolls on:)

Hi Matt
There is some very nice, distinct detail in your Mars capture – well done. Once again I poked my head outside to find 90% cloud cover but it looks like your persistence and dedication has paid off.
The seeing was good enough to use the x4 Powermate eh? I’d be tempted to plug in the trusty old ToUcam to grab some colour data to add to the DMK Luminance. Mars has a 24hour + rotation period (I think?) so there won’t be the same race as with Jupiter to fit it, focus and acquire.
Cheers

Nice one Matt. Looks to me like you are getting more and more comfortable with that little camera
It did look lovely early last night up until about 23:00, but I just couldn't stay the distance. :zzz2: Good to see someone did.
Thanks Paul and Dennis.
Well, maybe...and maybe not, Dennis.
I took some AVIs with the 4x just in case it turned out to be good enough...more hopeful than anything else.
Am just processing the 4x AVIs at the moment. Will post the result shortly.

Sigh, I only wish I had made the effort to get out last night, it looks like I missed a good night! Looks like you and Paul are keeping Qld in the game - LOL.
Hope the x4 Powermate AVI’s turn out okay - these are still on special at BinTel so it's tempting so close to Xmas...
Cheers

now you're talking! Great detail and nice globe shape. Well done.
Thanks, Mike.
I've trawled through the AVIs taken with the 4x...and the seeing wasn't quite up to it.
However, the result of a 150% resample of one of the 3x TV barlow AVIs produces a reasonable result.
Cheers.

Very reasonable.
