I love it when the kids get involved. I was star testing a secondary mirror a couple of nights ago and my daughter asked me if she could come outside and have a look. She has seen the moon many times but it always fascinates her. Here is a pic of my 9yld daughter Ashleigh looking through the telescope. The other pic is what she was looking at...

Excellent Ed!

Ain't it terrific to have our kids interested, especially when they ask and are not coaxed into it.

hey Ed,

I hope you had a moon filter in th scope or your daughter will never be the same :D . BTW your not allowed to get sharp crisp images of the moon with that beast :poke:

Nice one Ed, great pic. My son has just joined the Joey Scouts, and I hope to show all the kids there through the scope one day soon.

Ken, they don't seem to need any coaxing especially when there friends come over they drag them outside to have a look.

Houghy, no need for a moon filter when you have the secondary uncoated. Notice the diagonal in the pic. The moon pic was taken afocal with the Cannon PowerShot A20.

Mike kids love to look through the telescope, just make sure there is a bit of a moon out for them to look at.
