Hi
I went and saw Asimo do his stuff today, at a big tent setup behind Nobbys Beach, Newcastle. It was a free of charge show.
The shot of him running, he is doing 6 Km/h they say. He walks and runs in a very fluid manner, yet his arms move in a very precise robotic manner. A fair bit of hype from Honda but nonetheless the robot was most interesting. C-3P0, look out :)

My girlfriend Joy saw him (it?) - Asimo - in Melbourne on a recent trip, she's back up here now (where she belongs) and we're going down to Brisbane's South Bank on December 6th on the first day of Asimo's Brisbane performances so I can have a look too.
I've been following the development of Honda's Asimo for some years now (since the early P1, P2, P3 days) as well as the similar but separate path that Sony took with their ABIO / QRIO robots. The amazing thing with both is just how far they've taken them in terms of genuine bipedal motion (walking & running) while maintaining full balance. Amazing stuff!

(almost 7 Mb download - worth it if you have broadband. 4 QRIO robots performing a traditional style japanese dance, VERy fluid movements!)
