PST first light

G'day all!

Its been a while since i posted, but i recently purchased a PST second hand. Considering that the sun had absolutely NO activity, no spots and no intense magnetic features (from the soho site) i was still able to see prominences and what a site it was! i can honestly say that it was increadible! The fact that it was very hot made me sweat as i was seeing the plasma loops on the suns edges! I hoping for more intense solar activity in the near future!

Bloke get yourself a good wide brimed sun hat and a towel to drape over
your head, it will increase the contrast IMO 10 fold. But yup isn't she a
sight. Yes you can go out an spend the bucks and get a double stack.
But in reality a standard PST will give you heaps of enjoyment. Wait until
a nice big sunspot/group comes into view you'll see some fireworks on
the limb and some more funky bits as it transits.

Cant wait for that! I know that theres a long way to go till the solar maximum period, but still today was not a disappointment at all!
