Obviously it is a "XR7 Thingamjig with the XL doohickey adjuster"...you know the one made in Japan not the newer model that they moved production to China and switched the "whatsit widget" from metal to plastic...
not to be overly picky but, your picture has it upside down...
Sorry guys, my medication has not kicked in tonight yet...

Extension tubes , 1.25" is my guess.

What I can tell you is that there are 2 of these piggy backed in the photo. No cross hairs and only 1 optical piece in each unit.

Yeah, when this weather lifts, I would like to know as well. I got 2 because I can have variable correction 0-4deg, with 2 it acts like a Risley Prism. Supposed to be excellent for Mars, we shall see.

Man the specs sound real interesting Peter! can't wait to hear how practical It is.
Could such a device be that cheap? does It do what It claims? To find out stay tuned!

They are relatively cheap as a single unit, but when you get 2 @ $159usd each, they become expensive. I gotta say they are beautifully manufactured, very tight tolerances, some of my eyepieces actually wont fit without a fair degree of force, however one can get an adapter to overcome this. It is mentioned in the information at Adirondack that the tolerances are very tight, which is a good thing I reckon. Also Televue are coming out with something similar but it is incorporated in a diagonal. Aries from the Ukraine have produced them and Roland from Televue is working out all the sales details. I emailed the guy from Aries, cant think of his name off hand (Valery, or something like that) and he said they would probably be significantly more expensive than the Adirondack version. Interesting stuff. Oh yeah, the PADC got an excellent write up in the June S&T , US version. This made me go for the sale.
I just found out that these can be obtained from a guy here in Adelaide (Matthew Lovell) of: http://www.telescopes-astronomy.com.au
apparently he deals directly with Adirondack. His prices I have found in the past have usually been very competative with what one can get them for in the US. An example is his price for the Losmandy G11 with Gemini, about $500 cheaper than anyone else here in Aust.

Yes Peter he has very good prices on G11, $3530.00 non goto would you believe.
I almost bought one off him last year, sent the money to him and all. But when someone tells me It will be six weeks and three months later I still havent got and Ive already payed for It. I get real ,well lets just say I was not happy. If he has them in stock but no bull! I would still consider buying off him. You wont beat his price from anywhere.
