Yep, missed the sunset show with my Daughter going to brownies, but managed to get this when I got home - canon 400D with 200mm f2.8 lens on tripod:whistle:

I was hoping you'd shoot it tonight and sure enough you did !!
Great work Houghy.
I'm working tonight so couldn't setup, it sure was a beautiful sight just after sunset.

Glad you got it mate.

thanks RB I did have you on my mind when connecting the 200mm to the canon - last years shot of yours was a memorable one - everlasting for me i would say it is one of the best I have ever seen for a point and shoot situation - I can but only dream and mimic

Nice work Dave - they look very atmospheric indeed. When did the 200mm F2.8 sneak into your armoury of exotic lenses?

Cheers

My favourite phase of the moon, I love a thin cresent, more interesting plus the earth shine. Very nice mate.

Very nice indeed. Gee the earthshine was bright tonight, but my scope was tied up getting photons from fading Comet leonos to get it lol.

yep this is him in action:rofl:;) you can see the sophisticated electronic mount and the exotic goto device, the sturdy mount base platform, the CCD device and the care and meticulous detail to the paint work on the scope
