Hi
I got the comet going past IC4628. It has faded somewhat over last few days
Used the 300MMf2.8 flourite lens from Bert.
8x1 min ISO200. uv/ir filter, 300mmf2.8. Modded 350D
Images stacked and aligned on comet head. Good conditions, dark clear skies as good as can be expected for being so low in the SW.

Thanks. :)
I wonder if we will get any more comets before years end?

Beautiful image Scott.. I wonder how the experts process it so that the background is sharp too? I know you could produce another image aligned and stacked on the background, but blending them would be difficult.

It sure is moving fast and fading fast now.

Thanks. Indeed yes getting a background that hansn't "moved" would be tough as it is scooting along now.

Nice widefield shot Scott! I wanted to do a widefield shot but not enough time to do widefield and telescope shots with the comet so low..but glad to see it at last and image it from a mountain top!
cheers

A wonderful image of the comet Scott, it still has a decent length of its tail still visible and it looks great againt that fantastic backdrop of nebula.

Very nice indeed
