They've lit up the bush block one house over from us!

Lucky I'm going away for the weekend (3 nights) to do astronomy, I think this will trash the viewing conditions for the next 3-5 nights around here.

Shame to see the nice bush go too, I enjoy riding and walking through it :(

Yeah, controlled burn which is mostly under control. I think it got a little more vigerous at a couple of points than they would have liked though. Dramatic difference to the last time they lit it up, barely burnt then.

Yep we had a hazard reduction like that Roger, we tried on three different occasions to burn off about 5 hectares and couldn't get it started each time. Now it's fire season so it will have to wait until after March next year.

Our biggest worry is that some pyro will have other ideas.

I am happy that it will be safe for the fire season, fire isn't exactly my best friend. Shame about the nice bush and viewing though. They could've waited until new moon.:rolleyes:
