l know these are aimed at CCD photography but has anyone tried one on a Schmitt Cass with a DSLR?

I believe they will not work successfully, too much vignetting, the area of a webcam sensor (LPI, Neximage etc) is much smaller that of a DSLR sensor.

Tried it, woefull, made for tiny web cam size chips.

From the top of my head a 3.3 reducer will work with CCD/CMOS chips up to about 1cm in size. With a DSLR, you will have to crop out about 75% of the pic to get something decent as the chip is much larger than this.

No. My 3.3 reducer barely works with my ST7, so I stick to the 6.3. I'd hate to see what it does to a DSLR's FOV.

If it is anything like the NextGen 3.3 then an 8mm diagonal chip is about all you will get to use without problems an even that might be stretching is.
