and here's something to delight Scott (tornado 33)..a really obscure planetary nebula, Hoffleit 2-1(PN G 355.4-04.0) a 15th magnitude object in the top-right hand corner of the image.

Man you're putting out some shots lately. Great images too. Where are you getting all these clear skies from Narayan.

Howdy
Nice find there. I couldnt resist looking back over a pic I took of M7 not long after getting my 300D last year using Star Atlas Pro software, sadly, that PN is out of the frame but I did find another one
http://www.users.on.net/~josiah/temp/m7.jpg
Its PNG355.9-04.2 also known as M 1-30 given as a 5 arc sec PN at Mag 14.4 in H beta :)
The pic is three, five min ISO 400 shots with the 10 inch scope.

Cool!

Got to look for it in my image as well.I suppose M stands for Minkowski 1-30?

There is one other PN in the region -Cannon 2-1 -the brightest actually of the three -but that is certainly out of my frame. Have you tried to see if you picked it up?

I once tried to do astrophotography but when I started to do supernova serching it went by the wayside. I was looking through my photo album and thought you might like my Eta Carina shot taken with a 300mm telephoto lens Minolta SRT 101 800 ISO piggy back on Celestron 20cm unguided 15 minutes. astroron
