Great photos jjj, nicely composed with good detail.
I like how you've isolated the main subject from the background, good bokeh.

Hi Jeanette. He is an Eastern Water Dragon, Physignathus lesueurii lesueurii.

Thanks for the identification Citivolus. He must be a juvenile because the water dragons down the creek are much larger than him.
Thank you everyone for looking. I'm glad you liked him as well.

Great images Jeanette of a great looking subject. As said above definitely an Eastern Water Dragon, can you give any idea as to how long it was? Definitely a young'un but she (or he ;)) has already developed a beautiful long tail.

Gee, I reckon she'd be about 500mm maybe.

Is that a location thing? Another thing I have noticed is that the dragons don't have striking colouring until breeding season. The yellow and black near the eye will become very pronounced then.
