Meade ED80, EQ6, Astronomic UHC filter, EOS400D
No guiding

6 images 30 sec to 3 minutes

Converted to TIF in irfanview
Stacked in DSS, RGB set to linear, luminance set to zero
Levels and curves in CS2

I like how the subtle green of ionized oxygen is recorded there.

Quite a nice image for unguided exposures, and with the few short exposures you did take, well done.

Nice image, well done.
You could probably reduce the dimensions of it before saving for web, and avoid some of the compression artifacts.

I wonder whether I should get a UHC filter?

I have to use a filter as the light pollution here is so bad. I was using an orion skyglow but you get reflections around bright stars and the background goes real blue. The astronomics UHC is much better but lets through a lot less light.

My BAADER contrast booster and UV/IR blocker arrive next week and i am hoping i will get a much better result using them.

Also I get my Televue 0.8 reducer and USB guide adapter this week so i cant wait to start using all this new gear.
