My 17P Holmes

I'm returned to imaging, finally :D
Because the job, because the weather, but now I'm ready to start again :D

Well, I wanna share with you my latest image of the amazing comet 17P-Holmes.
I thought to shoot her in different bands.

Excellent image Anto! Very sharp. It's sure an oddball looking comet. I bet you guys with it had a long tail :)

I hope on a good tail but it's again unprobable. The distance is far again and the outburst is just an event based on the particular composition of the comet. We have to bet again :)

Execellent work. Great to see it in wavelengths from IR to UV, and across the visual. I dont think theres ever been a comet like this one, the starlike central condensation, perfectly round coma and a millionfold brigtening are incredible.

It sure is a wierd comet. When I took my first image with the 10 inch scope last night I thought something was badly wrong with either the camera or scope as it just didnt seem real, almost like the sensor was fogged or something, but its real enough. An unusual comet for sure.

I think the bright dot near centre is the comet, the fuzz around is the comet dust and what not. It's heading away from us me thinks.

BTW I really like the image where you applied the ((sin(h)/h)) function in PS.
Can you explain how you applied it in PS2 please?

I had a go applying a colourised sin version but not sure how to apply your function.

Thanks all for comments and asnwers :) and sorry if I answer after a bit of time.
Well, it's a special comet because its distance it doesn't have a tail again, so the outburst makes the actual coma.

@RocketBoy: I use to add a curve layer and then apply about 12-15 points and drag the points as you can see in the image attached here. Ihave many variants for mono and coloured versions. Anyway the LS filtering is the best way to emphatize details inside the coma.
