Hi, I have a ZS80 (FL 480mm, f/6) in excellent condition (around 8 months old). This is better than a standard achromat, but it does have some false colour. A 1.25" Minus Violet filter is included for use on bright objects (William Optics model).

This scope is very sharp. I had a nice view of Comet Holmes with it last weekend.

I have been using it mostly for terrestrial viewing but have also tested it on star clusters, bright globs and Jupiter. It's an excellent wide-field scope, and very portable. The photos show it on a fairly basic camera tripod, which is how I used it. It's smaller and easier to handle than many other 80mm scopes.

The only reason I'm selling it is that I couldn't reach focus with my new 2" erecting diagonal. I've now acquired a ZS80 II ED and the focus issue is resolved. However, I now have four scopes and this one won't see much use, so it has to go.

I bought this from Mick Pinner just a couple of months ago. It's a beautiful scope, and it would be good for imaging.

A soft case is also included, plus the instruction manual. The case shows a bit of wear but is in perfect working order.

The diagonal shown in the photos isn't included in the price, but could be a negotiable extra. It's the basic Andrews/GSO model. I chose it because it doesn't have a logo on it so the plain black matches the scope.

Price dropped to $275 or nearest offer.

Cheers

Morton

I'm thinking this would make a good guide or imaging scope on a GEM side by side with an ED80 or the like. The price is very attractive.

What focuser does that have? I've seen some shots with a 10:1, but those may be a different model.

It doesn't have the 10:1 model, but it is very smooth.

does it come with the tripod and can it be airline carry-on luggage?

Tripod is not included.

The case is well within carry-on limits.

Since a number of people have enquired about the case, here is a picture of it with the scope inside. The case is only about 45cm (18") long. It has cut-outs for a 2" diagonal and 4 eyepieces. The case comes with a shoulder strap and carry handles. There is also a velvety bag that you can keep the OTA in.

Thanks
