Guys,
I was out last night trying to get some happy snaps of the quarter moon with the new 400D. Couldn't find a balance between the ISO and shutter that didn't seem under or over exposed.
Is there a resource somewhere with a table of exposure times with a given ISO? (it would vary with the moon phase)

(NB:i was using a 300mm zoom (that didn't give very sharp shots anyway) and had a f/4.5)

Thanks

It looks more like it isn't focused properly.
Try to do an manual focus if you didn't do that already.

The moon is a sunlit object. Exposures are the same as daytime exposures. With 100 ASA film it was 125th sec at f11 for the full moon.
The problem with auto cameras is they will try to make the frame 18% grey. As the moon is usually surrounded by black the camera will try to overexpose the image. You need to set the exposure manually.
