Apparently a report from Ireland makes note that F1 has been sighted "naked-eye" using averted vision....
Living up to expectations perhaps?

Cant wait till it appears here!

That sounds promising.
We started the year with a naked eye comet, it would be terrific to end the year the same way.

I'm looking forward to it. I don't get a good view of the west from my location, but i'll definitely be taking a road trip to see it.

I even have an EQ6 and an ED80 now, so I can take prime focus pictures of it if it's not bright enough for the camera+lens on its own.

Can hardly wait for this one. I'll be on holidays in a dark sky area so hopefully I'll get some good views.

Im looking at November 3rd as my best possibility, but it could be visible well before, it'll be located around Scorpius on the 3rd according to my computer program.
T1 McNaught and F1 LONEOS will be close, but T1 will be much fainter.

Cant wait to get my 400D hooked into imaging it!
Should be good!

Latest reports of comet today indicate around mag 5.7-5.9, so comet's brightening has slowed considerably. Still it should be mag 5 for us, with a nice tail. Here are some images of it from Martin Mobberley in the UK:

Observing with 8 x40, and 10 x 50 binos from Cobham, 20 miles from central London showed nothing! Naked eye visibility was about 3.5 in the orange sky glow. Hope you guys back home have better luck.

Perihelion date : 28th October

Its has slowed in brightness, now they say maybe a peak of mag 5.5......

Couple of days to go before we see another comet! hope the rain holds out though!
