Hi David, cheers mate. yes, im in wheelers hill. about 20km's from Melb CBD.
nice one Eric love your work.
Phil
Not bad Eric. The flare from Alnitak would have looked more aesthetic if it was concentric. This appears to detract from the image. Do enjoy the detail you've obtained in the flame though.
Nice horsey Eric - no sign of flu there.....
Very nice indeed Eric, a lovely and detailed image.
I'm quite looking forward to them coming into my field of view, still obscured by trees for me.

Great image, the internal reflection is quite good as normally the filters would cause light to reflect somewhat.
How come youre selling such a fine camera? or are u upgrading to a 350 or 400D :)

cheers jase thanks. I think the UV/IR filter did help with this.
Thanks Phil
lol cheers Lee.
Plenty of opportunities Ric. It just started to rise. I'm an early bird
Cheer Scott. I think using both the UHC-S as well as the UV/IR filter helped to reduce the reflections. selling my cam for something better .maybe 350d, maybe 400d or even maybe the upcoming DSI III ;)
thanks ken. i'll give it to you if you deposit $650 into my account

here's a slightly reprocessed version. Spent a few hours more tonight fixing bits and pieces. Taking the image is the easy part, processing takes 3 times as long :eyepop:

Lovely image Eric. I agree with Jase that the off-center reflection on the bright star detracts a little, but otherwise a very nice image.

Like Mike and Jase say about the diffraction pattern but the horse and the flame are real nice! A job well done!
cheers
love to upgrade my old 300d but I will have to wait another year or so.

I agree with Jase on this one. Was your collimation out? it looks similar to an image I took at SPSP this year and the collimation wasn't even in the same universe as me.

no worries . Thanks :)
Cheers guys thanks for your reply.
Double checked my collimation seems to be good otherwise my stars will be flared out as seen from my recent M42 image:

 no idea why it is like that.
