Hi Guys,

Just seeing if anyone is interested in a modded 300D with 18-55mm lense. No filter replacement so this camera is purely dedicated for Astro use. American model, it comes with all cables, box, manuals, CD , battery, charger etc. Also has the russian hack firmware which enables mirror lock etc. I'll also throw in a T-Adapter as well as a dedicated Canon AC adapter for the camera so you can image the entire night without changing battery to go with it. Modifcation on its own cost $350+ and the AC Adapter on its own cost me $120.

There are a few dead pixels and the camera body has a few markings but functionality works 100% fine. You can see various images I have taken as well as recent ones too with this camera from my website. www.ezystyles.com.au (http://www.ezystyles.com.au) . I am not desperate to sell it just seeing if there are any interest as currently this camera works a treat for me.

I am asking for $650 + Postage.

Cheers.

Would you consider a trade of an existing 300D and cash or other equipment?

That's a great deal Eric! I've just received mine 300D modded which I bought on astromart from a canadian guy and I paid for it more than you are asking. I wish I'd knew you're going to sell yours. It would help me to save some money :-)

pretty much once a DSLR camera has been modded, this requires taking the internal filter out so that H-Alpha can be easily passthrough to the chip. When the filter gets taken out, you won't be able to use "auto" focus on the lense. That being said, you can however, focus manually. Additionally, your photo's will become all red. This can also be fixed by correct colour balancing. Once that is done, it can then be used for terrestial shots.

cheers.

heres an example of a flat frame taken with the camera on the 10/10/07. There is probably about 5 spec of dust noticable which can be clean quite easily on the chip thats about it.
