hi all
just a quick report
finally a day without clouds (although building up again)
took the BFG out And had a look at our star
stuck in the 2 inch gso 32mm and the 2x 2 inch barlow and the BFG dropped to the ground just caught it in time :)
so that told me i was gonna need a counterweight since i didnt have any speaker magnets yet and drilled some holes in a metal 200gramm coffee container and hung the container under the backend of the BFG (couple of bendt hooks over the rim dobbie owners will know where i mean) added just under 1 kilogram of lead weight to balance it again works great :)
as i said great view 93x mag stuck in the 15mm possl plus the 2x barlow mag at 200x not to shabby then i decided to really push it :) stuck in the 9mm1.25 inch gso and 2x barlow and was seeable hard to keep in focus though decide that the best viewing was with the 2x barlow and the 32mm gso kept it up for about an hour
so the homemade solar (baader) filter works great :)
plus i also tried the barlows unscrewy bit and screwed it into the 2 inch 32mm gso which turned it into a 22mm but it wouldnt focus so i had to pull the 32mm out a smidge to focus that worked not a bad view either not sure what mag that was though ?
